Expect More Traffic Downtown - Amazon RTO

Brace for significant traffic congestion as 65,000 Seattle and Eastside based Amazon employees return to the office full-time at the company's headquarters as reported by the Seattle Times. State transit officials are urging residents to prepare for gridlock and to allow extra travel time. The return is expected to benefit local businesses that suffered from reduced foot traffic during the pandemic when remote working was prevalent.

Seattle Minimum Wage Increases to $20.76/Hour
As of January 1st of this year, Seattle’s minimum wage increased to $20.76/hour up from $19.97. Previously, some employers were able to pay their employees $17.25/hour as the difference was able to be supplemented by tips in certain businesses such as restaurants. This “tip credit” is not able to be claimed by businesses going forward and now, all businesses will have a new, increased minimum wage of $20.76/hour. Source: Komo News.
