Community News
New Pickleball Center Announced in South Seattle
Side Out Pickleball Centers has announced a 26 court facility set to open in April, after great success in its Everett location. The facility will include professional grade pickleball courts and will be the new home to the Seattle Tsunami Pickleball Club. I’m personally looking forward to more accessible indoor pickleball!
Traveling This Week? Be Early.
It’s no surprise that many are traveling to visit family for the holidays, and over two million flyers are expected to pass through Seatac Airport during this holiday season. Make sure to arrive a few hours prior to flight departures to make it through TSA and baggage checks on time.
Hot Bagel Shop Set to Open in UVillage

Andrew Rubinstein, the founder and previous owner of Seattle’s Rubinstein Bagels, has been working on a new bagel project in the UVillage. After months of construction, Hey Bagel will open on January 6th, according to their Instagram. What’s better than handmade bagels from the legendary Seattle bagel man himself? I’m very much looking forward to this 😋

Parking Fine Increasing in 2025
Our current parking fines of $29 - $53 haven’t been increased since 2011. On Tuesday, the Seattle Municipal Court announced new parking fines in 2025 will now range from $43-$78 to “account for inflation” as reported by Kiro News Radio. Additionally, SPD will now be given permission to boot, tow, and impound vehicles with owners owing 4 or more overdue parking tickets.

A lesser known event in North Seattle, Kringle Family Filling Station returns this year and the final night to visit is tonight, December 23rd. A family friendly holiday gas station serving “Gas Pump Hot Cocoa” with a fun night of ski-ball, slot car races, holiday games, and more! Get tickets here.
George Balanchine's The Nutcracker
It’s hard to find a play more synonymous with the holidays than the Nutcracker. Presented by the Pacific Northwest Ballet, this week marks the show’s final week with its last showing on December 28. View more info and get your tickets here.
Enchant Christmas
Looking for something more active? Enchant Christmas at T-Mobile park is a family friendly holiday event with local vendors, ice skating, Santa, and even an indoor Christmas maze! This is its last week with the final opening on the 29th. Grab your tickets and learn more here.

🏒 Kraken: 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks last Thursday and 5-2 loss against the Avalanche on Sunday.
